So nice to meet you

I’m Dr. Lizzie Rolston PT, DPT

I am a physical therapist in Traverse City, MI, who is passionate about movement and helping others. My areas of expertise are performing artists, hypermobility syndromes, and foot/ankle issues, but I love treating any and all musculoskeletal conditions.

After graduating from Northwestern University with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy, I had the joy of working in Chicago with major professional dance companies and theaters. After several years in Chicago, my home state of Michigan called me back. In 2026, I launched Pivot Point to address the gaps in healthcare that I felt were holding patients back from meeting their potential.

I started dancing as soon as I could walk and danced all the way through college as well as pre-professionally in New York City. I am passionate about human movement and strongly believe that everyone is a dancer. Outside of work, I spend my time with my husband, my two wonderful children, a three-legged golden retriever, and a small, but very loud cat.

Professional credentials include:

  • Fellow of Applied Functional Science

  • Member of the APTA, APTA Michigan

  • Chicago's loss was Traverse City's gain when Lizzie Rolston moved to Michigan.

DanceWorks Chicago, a creative incubator for young professional dance artists, was fortunate to benefit from Lizzie's regular care, which was notable for its warmth, candor, and efficacy. Her ability to meet each person/dancer where they were, which, due to the pandemic, sometimes meant in a Zoom room, was an important part in relationship-building. From the pivot (no pun intended) between in-person treatment to virtual help sessions and back to in-person appointments, Lizzie never missed a beat. The focus beyond what to do to the why to do it is part of her approach to client education that is empowering rather than prescriptive.
